HOllywood Movie Dunzo! 'Star Wars'

Why We Liked It So Much: Ah, George Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy. A few Ewoks aside, it was perfect. Indeed, who among us still can’t make that light-saber sound? (Even our iPods can’t do it now, for Force’s sake!) And 16 years after the final film of the original trilogy hit theaters, super fans camped for weeks outside of movie theaters to be first to witness the prequel, The Phantom Menace. Then it began. There was, well, the aforementioned The Phantom Menace. There was Jar Jar Binks. There was Hayden Christensen. There were the revised first three films -- with a frightfully digitized Jabba the Hutt -- which now are the second three films. But, still, we remained faithful. Somewhat. Now, Not So Much: Need we say it? Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The movie was dull and heartless. The TV series on the Cartoon Network even worse. And this week, the final insult. “Bombad Jedi,” which brought back the obnoxious, and seeminlgly racist, Jar Jar Binks. George, it’s time to admit that your ship, starfighter to be exact, has sailed and it’s time to try something new. And, no, that does not include Indiana Jones 5. As Jar Jar would say, “New-new! Okiday?”
